Brain Sutherland graduated from physiotherapy in 1986 and has been practicing integrative treatments since 1992. He regularly see's patients with complex pain challenges that have not had their symptoms resolved with other approaches. He believes that the answer to wellness can be found on many levels including healthy nutrition. People don't often relate the pain they are feeling to healthy nutrition or that sometimes old surgeries or traumas can affect them in negative ways. Scar tissue can create twists and /or compaction in the sophisticated connective tissues of the body. This process can happen gradually over time as tissues heal and can be the cause of symptoms as other tissues in the body become unable to compensate.  Craniosacral therapy is one of several gentle osteopathic connective tissue approaches that he uses to assist patients on their path towards wellness. He also provides classical acupressure with myofascial release and CFQ Healing Qi Gong along with conventional physiotherapy when called for.

Dr. Colin Huska, ND is the owner and an attending naturopathic doctor at Sage Elements Naturopathic Clinic Through the use of healthy and directed lifestyle choices, herbal medicines, supplementation, acupuncture and counseling, he has assisted many on their road to optimal health.  To further investigate how dietary choices can positively affect your digestive health and, by extension, your entire being, please call the clinic to book your appointment.

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct form of care that encompasses the totality of an individual.  While the whole person is taken into account, a properly functioning digestive system may be thought of as one of the pillars of maintaining optimal health.  It is the one place in our bodies that the outside world, namely the food we eat, directly affects and becomes a part of us.  If this interaction is interrupted by such things as poor dietary choices, digestive imbalance or food allergies, it may result in systemic effects felt throughout the body.  Some of these effects may include: allergy/sensitivity (gluten, food, environmental, etc.), irregular bowels, gas/bloating, stimulation of some inflammatory conditions, headache, mood imbalance, skin conditions and decreased mental acuity.  The broad and far reaching effect of a properly functioning digestive system is why it is so often an integral part of any naturopathic treatment plan.
